A little more definition

Last month

Since I've been back from the states, I'd thought about what to do with my time. Since I've been floating around all kinds of small projects, and never going through with either of them, I'd thought that it was important to stick with one thing and go for it. So last month I started with a Strike Kings "pilot" comic, which I finished and mailed to a publisher today. Let's see how that will turn out. In the meanwhile, as I was doing Strike Kings, I thought up yet another concept with a king ( yes I know ) called King Badass. Here's a doodle design I did.

Washing it of

Because I work with watercolors it's important that I wash of the excessive graphite that sticks to the paper. If I don't do that, it will mess up the colors through mixing when I color the paper. So I always shower the work of with cold water. Now it's needs to dry first, and then I can slap some color on it.

Smoking Gunn on Missile Leechee

Smoking Gunn ( above, made in 2007... God time flies ) is a daughter of Ara's arch enemy, the Victorian. She may look beautiful but she's a crazy bitch! In the Feather town Sepher, this will be Ara's first "official" opponent.
She rides her own Poppy bear: Leechee ( below ), who likes to fire missiles, and dislikes bad odors. Smoking's main weapon is the Bulletsword. She likes to shop and live target practice. She dislikes waking up too early in the morning and not getting what she wants.

Throttle Knight: Shiny Armor

Since I don't do a lot of digital work, a friend of mine suggested that I should do some. So I thought I'd give it a try. Please don't expect groundbreaking digital art. I have little experience in this field, but I wanted to practice a little. Since I'm doing that, I'd thought it might be nice to do some new character designs for Once Upon A Dream, starting with this one: Captain Shiny Armor of the HeavyEngine family.

This is an older piece I did years ago. I will do some new art on him too soon, although he will not change a lot. Like Ara he is also a Damned Chevalier who will make an appearance in the story.

Dheka

Ara entered the Dreamworld when he was just a boy. He was young, naive, and very inexperienced. After a few hundred years of living and training under his mentor Adel, he thought he was ready to take on the world. This was however far from the truth. Because of his gentile and naive nature, Ara lost everything he loved. He swore revenge. He then met Dheka, a demon who's spirit was for ever lingering in the Dreamworld. They made a demonic pact. Dheka could use the body of Ara, and in exchange he would help him in his revenge. But his revenge was so brutal he eventually lost the will to live. What Ara did not realize is that the pact could not be undone, and so they were bound to each other for thousands of years.

Dheka is named after the Persian god Dahaka, the demon of deceit.

Damned Chevalier

Ara is part of the group "The Damned Chevaliers" that he was unwillingly made a member of. He now needs to do the bidding of his masters to obtain the thing he wishes most.
